The Infiniti M35h hybrid was showcased earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show and now that its release date is approaching car enthusiasts are eager to get behind the wheel.

Increasing interest in the model perhaps has something to do with a recent sketch (pictured) of the Infiniti electric vehicle, which shows a stunning concept vehicle with smooth lines and ultimate style.

The Paris Auto Show is the next stop for the new model and although hardly any of the models will go into production, the Infiniti M35h should be on sale this time next year.

Ben Poore, Infiniti Vice President, said, “This future EV will play a major part of Infiniti’s ‘eco performance’ strategy that will see a greater focus on hybrid and EV technology.

We are committed to applying the world’s best technologies to reduce emissions without sacrificing driving excitement or engagement – a pledge that will become more evident soon with the upcoming introduction of our new Infiniti M Hybrid.”

The model should offer drivers the luxury that they have come to expect from Infiniti models and yet will still increase fuel efficiency by at least 10 mpg.

A benefit of this new hybrid system is that it has been designed to fit into all new models, including the EX, FX crossover, coupe and G sedan. As a result, it is thought that all the new luxury models will be available with a hybrid version.

The release date of the new Infiniti M35h is as of yet unconfirmed but it is thought that it will be released in spring 2011.
